After travelling all over the world, I fell in love with Lucerne and settled here in 2018. Our group of four booked a three hour walking tour of Lucerne with John. He was very knowledgeable of the history, architecture and culture of the area. As important, we also found John to be personable and engaging, and we enjoyed our conversation with him as we walked through the city. He even treated us to a snack at the farmer's market. My husband and 4 20 something daughters had a delightful 3 hour tour of Old Town Lucerne with local, John. He was lighthearted, easy to understand (he is originally from Scotland with just a hint of an accent), and had some great fun facts and not-so-fun facts (history is a bit dark at times) about the inception of the city and current events. We had a great 2 hour private tour with John. He shared the history of Lucerne, explained the layout of the city, and introduced us to many of the key landmarks and areas throughout the city. John’s knowledge gave us better perspective on touring and understanding Lucerne and the things we see throughout the old town. He also left us with some great recommendations for places to eat/drink and other sites to see and experience. I highly recommend this tour for anyone experiencing Lucerne for the first time. John was hands down the most knowledgeable guide I’ve ever had a tour with. Plus he’s friendly, easy to talk to, and you can tell he’s genuinely passionate about Lucerne and history. He was also able to answer all of our random questions about Swiss culture, it’s history, politics, etc and we knew we were just scratching the surface of what he could share. By far the best tour we had during our trip and it completely transformed our view of Lucerne and helped us appreciate it.Super Guide!
