Hi guys, my name is Jorge Mourao.

I am a Geography teacher and a senior public officer in Camara Municipal de Lisboa - the Lisbon City Council. I am passionate about my most beloved hometown, and I love to explore its urban history and architecture.

I’ve got a very energetic small dog that, as much as I do, loves long city walks around the small streets, riverside areas and upper hills of the central historical neighbourhoods of Lisboa.

My other passion is to explore the best of the authentic Portuguese food and wine culture.

I can introduce you to the nicest spots and to the not so obvious hidden locations, restaurants and wine drinking places, paired with the tastier food servings from Portuguese cuisine. I’ve come to know them like the back of my hand!

Jorge was incredibly knowledgeable about Lisbon, and the city’s history right up to the current day. He was able to answer all our questions - we learned so much about the city, politics, healthcare, education, culture, sights to see, and where to shop! He had a great sense of humour, was charming, and very engaging. It was such a fabulous tour and welcome to Lisbon, we could have spent the whole day with him if possible. He made Lisbon come alive by pointing out things we would never had noticed and shared stories. He took great care of us, and even showed us how to use the metro - which came in handy during the rest of our trip. Would highly recommend Jorge for future tours! Amazing Lisboa tour!

Jorge was the perfect guide. Our interest in visiting a new place is to learn about the history and the culture of its people. NOT just visiting museums and churches (and every other tourist attraction seen in Instagram), but to see and understand some of the lessor-known but historically significant artifacts of past societies. We learned about the rich historical events that shaped modern day Lisbon / Portugal and got a great locals-only perspective of everyday life in Portugal from Jorge who has lived (along with his family) in the city his entire life. Our tour was customized to include some “must-see” landmarks, some off the beaten path local food options, and Lisbon-centric pottery, fragrances and apparel. Jorge was an excellent guide. His tour exceeded our expectations in terms of both quality and time. His enthusiasm and knowledge made our guided tour great. We took many steps as we followed them, starting from the western hills and walking through the valley in the center to the eastern hills, which had great views of the setting sun. We learned a lot about Lisbon and its history in the afternoon. Jorge gave us lots of tips for the rest of our vacation and for souvenir shopping.Unforgettable Lisbon tour with Jorge

Jorge, is such a friendly, enthusiastic, knowledgeable guide! From the moment I booked a trip for our group of 22 people he was helpful in all ways. Telling us which are was good, if the restaurants I picked where nice not a question was to much! The trip it self was great with lots of information about the beautiful city of Lisbon. He took us everywhere in 3 hours even stopped at a place for drinks with a wonderful view. It is not east to guide 22 people for 3 hours, but for Jorge this was not an issue. I would recommend Jorge to everyone visiting Lisbon it will make your trip more interesting and you feel so welcomed by an Born and Raised guide from Lisbon. Jorge, once again, thank you! Our morning with Jorge was over and beyond what we expected! Jorge took us places that we never would have found and enlightened us with such knowledge that we now have a much better understanding and appreciation of the city he proudly calls his home. Not only does he know Lisbon like the back of his hand, he lead us away from the touristy spots to the more more local joints that were less crowded yet exceptional. Jorge lead us through “hidden” Lisbon at a lovely pace. I can honestly say that we have a new friend born and raised in Lisbon! Thank you Jorge! Fascinating and incredible
