Hi guys, my name is Jorge Mourao.

I am a Geography teacher and a senior public officer in Camara Municipal de Lisboa - the Lisbon City Council. I am passionate about my most beloved hometown, and I love to explore its urban history and architecture.

I’ve got a very energetic small dog that, as much as I do, loves long city walks around the small streets, riverside areas and upper hills of the central historical neighbourhoods of Lisboa.

My other passion is to explore the best of the authentic Portuguese food and wine culture.

I can introduce you to the nicest spots and to the not so obvious hidden locations, restaurants and wine drinking places, paired with the tastier food servings from Portuguese cuisine. I’ve come to know them like the back of my hand!

My wife and I had the pleasure of Jorge for our walking tour. Jorge has a unique insight to Lisbon because of his profession outside the tourism industry. Our tour lasted 5 hours and was at a pace I could keep up with. I'm not fan of walking but he made it fun with plenty of stops with good food, a wealth of information and "Hidden Gems". Thank you Jorge for introducing Lisbon to me and my wife. We'll be back.Portugal for Beginners

We had the most amazing experience with Jorge. His historical and geographical knowledge of Lisbon was hugely informative along side his passion and dry sense of humour. We would highly recommend this tour. We learned so much from Jorge who was also an excellent photographer and we haven’t stopped taking panoramic pictures tweaking here and there. Thank you Jorge. Our walking tour with Jorge was definitely a highlight of our trip. His knowledge of the history and geography of the city helped us get oriented on our first full day in the city and provided valuable context as we continued to explore on our own. It felt less like a guided tour and more like being shown around by a friend. The pace was leisurely, the food was delicious, and we covered quite a bit of ground. Jorge is both professional and personable. Highly recommend him as a guide. Perfect Introduction to Lisbon

Jorge is extremely knowledgeable and was very flexible with us when we wanted to change the location of the tour. We learned a ton but wish we could’ve moved faster and covered more ground. Some of his detail was too much detail for us. Good Tour But Paced Too Slowly

It would be an understatement to say that Jorge’s tour of Lisbon exceeded our expectations. On a scale of 1 to 10, Jorge is a 12. He was one of the original five guides for Get Locals when they started in Lisbon many years ago. Having a guide who is both a pioneer and a city planner for Lisbon offers a unique combination of experience and knowledge. My family and I benefited from Jorge’s talents on a most memorable city tour. I would confidently say that if you do not choose Jorge as your guide for a tour of Lisbon, you will miss out on something truly special12 out of 10

It was a great experience to make a tour with Jorge. His concept was excellent on behalf of the Spots, the time, the walking distances - but namely concerning explainations about history, Arts, politics, geography and society (also today). We learned a lot and are thankfull for his time and energy, his profound Knowledge and his Sense of humor. Great recommandation!So profound

We had a girl’s trip and decided on a walking tour (Highlights of Lisbon and Hidden Gems). Jorge was our guide. He was fabulous. We learned so much about the history of Portugal and visited every neighborhood in Lisbon. The pace was just right. He was so knowledgeable and a lot of fun. I highly recommend a tour with Jorge. You will not be disappointed.Fantastic!

After a week of nonstop requests for a review I will succumb to. Jorge gave us a fantastic tour. We learned much about Lisbon and Portuguese history. Jorge spent most of the day with us and with the previous day’s tour group, which he combined with ours (with our permission) due to a rainstorm the prior day. The tour went on much longer than we expected, which was fine. The only thing was that the tour was supposed to include a drink or snack, and instead of including that, we ended up buying our own and chipping in to pay for Jorge’s, along with the others who had joined our tour. Additionally, we paid more for our drink and snack than indicated on the menu because we just divided the entire bill by the 6 of us instead of paying for the 2 of us separately. Other than that, it was a great day. Very interesting

Jorge brought me to a seafood place and had the most amazing shrimps I've had in my life. He ended up peeling them for me cause I was too slow 🤣 In the short time I had with him I learned a lot about the history and culture of Lisbon and felt that it provided me a great understanding of the area. If you guys are in Lisbon I definitely recommend booking a tour with Jorge. He was knowledgable not only on the history + culture but also political and social affairs. He also knows where the best food spots (Amazing) + how to avoid tourist traps Getting to know him, learning about Lisbon through the lens of a local and learning about the people and culture was the highlight of my trip. I felt that I left with new perspectives Cannot say enough good words about it. Jorge Is A Living Legend.
