Kawika was an excellent tour guide! He shared lots of history and interesting stories with us while we toured. He answered all our questions and showed us things we wouldn’t have found on our own. Kawika was a great guide to show us all of the major sites around the center of Amsterdam! He was on time, actually early!, and met all of the requirements for sites we wanted to see. He did a great job of tailoring the tour to our needs and was very knowledgeable when we had questions. I’d contact him again the next time we are in town. Kawika could not have made our introduction to Amsterdam more wonderful. From the moment we met up his kind, calm demeanor made us feel comfortable and welcomed. Rather than having a script to go off of, he was a wealth of fun facts that helped us see this city in enlightening & unexpected. His love for this city infused our tour with energy, curiosity, and wonder. We felt comfortable asking him questions about Amsterdam and broader Dutch history, as well as how to navigate the city like locals. We could not recommend him more highly! Absolutely book with him! An Absolute Gem!

We really enjoyed our two day Amsterdam tour with Kawika. He is very knowledgeable and was helpful and sensitive to our wants and needs. He managed to reconfigure our tour due to airline delays and still made our stay in Amsterdam most enjoyable and interesting. His artistic insight and general artistic knowledge are exceptional and really added to the artistic aspect, and he listened carefully to us and curated a bespoke tour suited exactly to what we wanted and could manage. We spent a morning with Kawika on a World War II walking tour of Amsterdam, and it ended up being so much more than just a history lesson. While he covered the WWII material thoroughly and thoughtfully, he also wove in broader context about the city and the people. Kawika made an effort to get to know our family—what we’d seen so far, what we were curious about and shaped the experience to fit us perfectly. Rather than delivering a scripted tour, he made it conversational, responding to our questions and observations as we went. It felt organic, not rehearsed. He’s warm, personable, and so knowledgeable, never overwhelming. We truly enjoyed spending the morning with him. Time flew by, and both of our teenagers wished the tour had lasted longer… which says everything. We’d recommend him without hesitation.HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Kawika made us feel comfortable even before our tour started by learning our interests up front to customize our tour. He had impeccable knowledge of the area and its history. He didn’t just rattle off facts but wove them into our conversation. He had ready answers to our questions and shared personal experiences to enhance our understanding. He was a great resource for suggestions of things to do and how to navigate the city. We couldn’t have found a better way to learn about Amsterdam.

Our time with Kawika was awesome. His love and passion for Amsterdam showed through his knowledge and understanding of its amazing history, its architecture, its art and its people. We are a family of 4, with 11 and 15 year old boys - they stayed engaged the entire time and Kawika answered all 1,000 questions they had, with pleasure. We would rebook in a heartbeat.
