One of the greatest joys in life is the opportunity to connect with people from different backgrounds, to explore new countries, and to immerse oneself in diverse cultures.

I am fortunate to have a rich and varied heritage—half from Hanoi, a quarter from Ninh Binh, and a quarter from Hoi An. Growing up amidst such diverse cultural influences in Vietnam, I was surrounded by fascinating stories shared by my grandparents and parents about our country’s history, culture, traditional food, and way of life. These stories sparked a deep curiosity in me, and I became an avid reader, always eager to learn more.

Traveling has always been one of my greatest passions. As I grew older, I had the chance to explore many parts of Vietnam, as well as travel across Southeast Asia and Western Europe. I am deeply proud of the beauty of my country and love to share it with others. My experiences abroad have also given me a new perspective, allowing me to see the contrasts between Eastern and Western cultures, which has only deepened my admiration for the unique beauty of each place. Above all, I have developed a profound respect for cultural diversity and a commitment to preserving and celebrating my own heritage.

Though I once started a local business to support rural women and children in need—a venture that didn’t ultimately succeed—I was then introduced to Withlocal. Loan, our local guide, is super nice and accommodating. She is very familiar with the Hanoi neighborhood and took us to sample scrumptious and unique cuisines. We enjoyed fresh green papaya salad, deep fried fermented pork rolls, banh mi with fresh vegetables and BBQ pork from the grill. We then had an ice cold local beer to clear our palates before fragrant beef broth pho. It has been a wonderful experience to navigate the Old Quarter to work off some of the extra calories. We ended our tour watching the train pass through as we sipped rice wine at Train Street. Perfect day!Best food tasting ever at Hanoi!

Loan led us on an informative and insightful tour, taking us to corners of Hanoi we otherwise would have missed, like certain colourful streets around the market, and aspects of peoples' lives. She is very sweet and polite, and was very good at sharing her knowledge of her city and its history. We would definitely recommend Loan.a highlight of our Hanoi stay

Loan was an excellent guide for our tour of the old town and hidden gems of Hanoi. She tailored the tour to our interests and what we had already seen. She has an excellent knowledge of the area and interesting local facts. She speaks English very well and was even able to joke with us a bit. Loan was an incredible guide, making my introduction to Hanoi truly memorable. Her deep knowledge of the country’s history and her knack for uncovering hidden gems in the Old Quarter added so much charm to the experience. She pointed out details I would have completely missed on my own, giving the tour an extra layer of magic. One standout moment was when she took us to the famous doughnut stand tucked away in the Old Quarter—it was absolutely delicious and something I never would have found without her. Loan also recommended a street food tour with another guide, which sounded amazing, though sadly, we ran out of time to try it. Loan, thank you for an unforgettable experience!
