Loris

I was born in South-Italy, but Venice is the city that I chose to be my home. When I came here the first time I was astonished by its uniqueness, and I never felt that way for any other city. I'm a sommelier and I love cooking, plus I'm a portrait and food photographer. On my free time I like to try new restaurants (I'll tell you my favourite ones!), watch movies (did you know that here we have the oldest film festival in the world?) and to play guitar. Loris did a great job of showing us hidden gems in Venice. We went to many unique areas of the city that are off the beaten path and not well known to tourists. He did a great job of working in some history on the things we saw, but also explained the differences between the different districts within the city of Venice. He suggested some great places for wine, food, coffee, etc. as well.Extremely knowledgeable local

Venice is a city you want to get lost in, but in a smart way perhaps. Loris helped us to achieve this goal by crafting a personalized tour through the city with our 10 - 14yr old kids. He kept all of us fully engaged, telling us stories about the history of certain places, and particular things we had to pay attention to. All in all a great experience.Get lost in Venice with Loris

Loris was great! He was very knowledgeable about the city, the local restaurants, and shop owners. He was also very sensitive and mindful of an allergy that we had in our group. He was able to work around that and provided an amazing Venetian experience. Anyone who loves food and drink, in non-touristy settings, this is for you.Great experience---strongly recommend

Loris ran a great tour of Venice. We saw some great hidden spots, got good explanations of history and politics, and were able to take some nice coffee, gelato, and Spritz breaks along the way. He was also able to give us some great recommendations for the rest of our time in Venice and Italy. Great tour and recommendations

Loris was an outstanding tour guide. He had an excellent amount of information about the city, and knew all the great local places to truly discover the real Venetian cuisine. He also gave us a great recommendation for cichetti and a delicious restaurant recommendation for a sit down dinner. Anyone that knows their food or wine should request him for their tour. Excellent tour guide!

Loris was excellent. He thoughtfully tailored the tour to our needs, especially since I had my 8-year-old daughter with me. When she didn’t take to the chocolates at one of the stops, he kindly ordered her some jelly sweets instead. He was incredibly knowledgeable about wine, the wines he picked for the evening were the best we had on our trip. We even bought some bottles to go. Loris even went above and beyond by recommending great dinner spots for our subsequent nights in Venice.Perfect Evening with Fine Wines

This is the best way on your first day to get your bearings in the many areas of this beautiful city while experiencing and learning about the local food and drinks scene. And Loris who is a chef and sommelier as well as a knowledgeable historian of all things Venice is a happy font of information. The food choices were perfect. Great half day. My husband and I recently did a walking tour with Loris in Venice and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. We customized one of his available photography tours to focus less on photography and add more walking and food and wine. We had a fantastic time with Loris who was so kind and knowledgeable about Venice. As a trained sommelier, he also did a great job explaining the local wines we tried. We really felt like we got a local perspective on Venice and got to visit places that are not in all the guide books. It felt like being shown around the city by a good friend. Since our tour was so recent, we still have not received copies of the photos Loris took but he suggested some fun and scenic locations for pictures and did a great job directing us and making us feel comfortable in front of the camera. Loris is a very knowledgeable and thoughtful guide! We spent two half days together and everything was just as you would want it to be. This was our second time to Venice and with Loris we learned more and saw more of this glorious city than we did on our previous trip 14 years ago. So grateful for our time together. We did a custom tour our first day which included having Loris take pictures of us since he is a photographer as well! Can’t wait to see our pictures when we get home from our trip! Thank you Loris for taking such good care of us! Loved both Loris and Venice!
