We were genuinely excited for this food tour, expecting to dive into Armenian cuisine through multiple stops showcasing local dishes, street food, and traditional treats. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations. While Lusine was warm and kind, she was clearly unprepared and lacked the depth of local knowledge we had hoped for—both about Yerevan and, more importantly, its food culture. Rather than guiding us through a series of food stops with insight into the ingredients, history, or traditions behind each dish, we were taken to a single tourist-oriented restaurant. This felt more like a generic lunch than a curated food experience. To make up for the lack of content, Lusine shifted the focus toward a general city tour—something we neither expected nor needed, as we already had one planned separately. The stops she introduced felt like they were quickly looked up on the spot rather than thoughtfully chosen in advance. This could have been a fantastic experience with just a bit more preparation: some genuine research into local specialties, a clear route, and a few authentic spots off the beaten path.
