Our family has travelled a fair amount, and used many guides in many cities. Maria is literally the best guide we have ever had. She has guided us on multiple trips to Madrid, and we have sent friends to her as well. She is very knowledgeable on the history, art, and culture of Spain and especially Madrid. She is also an attentive guide paying attention to the needs of our various elderly and young family members and making adjustments (bathroom, snack, break…) as needed. Her recommendations for restaurants, Flamenco, shopping, and other sites to visit have all been excellent.Best guide we have ever had

We had the best time with Maria Augusta at the Prado Museum. She curated a greatest hits list of art to show us and shared the most interesting stories and perspectives about them. We don’t usually tour art museums on our frequent European city breaks, but we loved this tour. She was great with our surly 12-year-old daughter, too. This was definitely the highlight of our Madrid experience! A museum tour perfect for non-museum tyoes

With anecdotes and great insight and humor she took well care for us and now we want to do it again, with her, to the next level, next time in wonderful Madrid. Maria provided Ana amazing experience for our family at the Prado. Before the tour she learned what was important to us and curated a really excellent visit to the museum to ensure we saw the pieces that most spoke to us and were critical to see. She explained each painting in the perfect amount of detail to keep us interested while being mindful of the dynamic of a group’s interest in moving to the next piece. Her insights into the museum’s collection and interesting facts about each piece made the trip very memorable.Perfect tour of the Prado

We loved our tour of the Prado with Maria Augusta. She navigated us through the busy museum as if it was only us in the building. We learned and enjoyed much more than if we were on our own or in a group tour. This is the only way to go.Maria made all the difference

Our tour with Maria was pretty much everything I was hoping it would be (and what I've now come to expect with withlocals!). Our group was two couples (4 people) and Maria was extremely engaging with everyone in our group from the moment we arrived at the meeting point through the end of the tour. Maria brought us around to a few cool, unique shops, stopped by a few local art galleries, and pointed out a bunch of interesting facts/observations about the buildings, architecture, and general history of Madrid. From a basic content and structure standpoint, 10/10. Beyond the structure and content of the tour, Maria is an absolutely delightful human. She was warm, friendly, listened to our questions, was patient throughout the tour, and was an excellent and clear communicator. I didn't once feel rushed, pressured, bored, or anything of the sort during our time spent with Maria. As a guide, 10/10. If you're going back and forth about spending money on a private tour or whether to choose Maria - do it. You can thank me later. Thoughtful and Extremely Enjoyable!
