Hi! I 'm Markella. i am licenced tourist guide. I fell lucky to have chosen that great job. I have been specialising in day trips in Athens.

I had the chance to travel all over Greece individually as well as during my tourist studies, therefor some of my favorite tours include Delphi, Olympia, Meteora and many other magnificent places.

As a graduate of the School of Tourist Guides operated by the Organisation of Tourism Education and Training of Guides in Greece and a member of World Federation of Tourist Guide Association, I am certified to conduct tours of the highest professional level. I am fluent English and French speaker and enjoy leading individuals, groups and families in both languages.

In 2016, I achieved Level 2 Sommelier through courses at Wine Spirits Professional Center from W.S.E.T London and i recommend you to not missing a wine tasting i can provide you in Greek winneries specialy them of Athens.

I am Greek, native Athenian ,and i live with my family in Athens. So I am able to share with you town's daily life its "smells'' and "tastes". We can have together a lively experience visiting the ordinnary quarters of the town,to enjoy a greek coffee getting you closer to locals just to exchange the gesture of "yassas' means hello. i am enthousiast joing travellers who want learn more about my country. My aim is to bridge the past with the present and the antiquity with the modern times. Next to the vestiges of the archeological sites i unfold greek myths that are blended with the greek history and the traditions. Through this journey, this is my way to built a new relationship with you, to offer you my knowledge, to transmet you my experiences and my love for Greece.

At the end of a tour i feel joy and satisfaction when you leave from my country with your suitcases plenty of memories,landscapes' images and fulfeel feelings.

Booking a private tour guide was an excellent way to make our visit to Acropolis special. We could not be more satisfied with Markella. She did a wonderful job setting the stage and equipping us with the base knowledge needed to fully enjoy the temples. She is so immersive with her storytelling and pleasant to have conversation with. We toured Delphi the next day and said multiple times how much we miss Markella. Additionally, she is great at communication prior to the tour. You will not regret booking with Markella! A highlight of our time in Athens

What a great morning my wife and I had touring the Acropolis, the Parthenon and the Acropolis Museum with Markella last week. She is obviously very passionate about the history of her great City and I think I learnt more about that history, and particularly this area, than I ever did studying Greek history at school. Markella's commentary and delivery was personal, fascinating and informative. We both came away with a great respect and understanding of what we were viewing. 100% better than any recorded self-guided tour. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Athens. Best to start early too, in order to avoid the heat and cruise ship masses, while there are still some shaded areas to retreat during the tour. A great tour, but start early if you can.

My family and I (including two boys - 11 & 14) really enjoyed our sunrise visit to the Acropolis & Museum. Markella was knowledgeable & entertaining & brought the stories of the past, and the lives of the Gods to life for us all. She was thoughtful about how to avoid the crowds & which museum exhibits would be most interesting for us. We really enjoyed our tour - thanks Markella! We hope to see you next time in Athens. Markell’s gave a wonderful tour of Athens. We were only there for 24 hours and this was the perfect tour to get the history of the city and a glimpse what life is like now. Wonderful! Wonderful!

Markella was a truly excellent guide for my wife, adult daughter and myself. She brought ancient Athens alive as well as recounting Athens recent and current history. During the tour we covered the main ancient sites (excluding the Acropolis, at our request). Markella was able to answer all our questions and gave us the basis to visit the sites at our leisure on the following days. We could not be higher in our praise and the value she added.Excellent half day tour of Athens

Markella was an excellent guide for our tour of the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum. She not only shared key historical anecdotes and key facts; she also did a great job with the wide range of questions from adults and 5 kids/tweens/teens alike. Markella went out of her way to make things fun and engaging for the range of ages (9-15 years old for the kids), including having activities that would help make the history come alive for them. She allowed the 9 year old to act as her aide to share his knowledge of Greek mythology, which he particularly enjoyed. Markella also checked in with the adults to ask if we thought a snack stop was needed for the kids during the transition from the Acropolis to the museum. When the kids’ energy was flagging, she pulled a couple of rabbits from her hat with key features from the museum that they particularly enjoyed. All of the adults (there were 4 of us) really enjoyed Markella’s breadth of knowledge and appreciated gaining her perspectives on the excellent design of the museum, all of which enhanced our experience. Markella is extremely knowledgeable and provided us with detailed historical information throughout the tour. She could answer all of our (many) questions and did that in a truly interesting way. Walking around these amazing historic sites could not have been more exciting! Great Acropolis tour
