Hi! I 'm Markella. i am licenced tourist guide. I fell lucky to have chosen that great job. I have been specialising in day trips in Athens.

I had the chance to travel all over Greece individually as well as during my tourist studies, therefor some of my favorite tours include Delphi, Olympia, Meteora and many other magnificent places.

As a graduate of the School of Tourist Guides operated by the Organisation of Tourism Education and Training of Guides in Greece and a member of World Federation of Tourist Guide Association, I am certified to conduct tours of the highest professional level. I am fluent English and French speaker and enjoy leading individuals, groups and families in both languages.

In 2016, I achieved Level 2 Sommelier through courses at Wine Spirits Professional Center from W.S.E.T London and i recommend you to not missing a wine tasting i can provide you in Greek winneries specialy them of Athens.

I am Greek, native Athenian ,and i live with my family in Athens. So I am able to share with you town's daily life its "smells'' and "tastes". We can have together a lively experience visiting the ordinnary quarters of the town,to enjoy a greek coffee getting you closer to locals just to exchange the gesture of "yassas' means hello. i am enthousiast joing travellers who want learn more about my country. My aim is to bridge the past with the present and the antiquity with the modern times. Next to the vestiges of the archeological sites i unfold greek myths that are blended with the greek history and the traditions. Through this journey, this is my way to built a new relationship with you, to offer you my knowledge, to transmet you my experiences and my love for Greece.

At the end of a tour i feel joy and satisfaction when you leave from my country with your suitcases plenty of memories,landscapes' images and fulfeel feelings.

This was our second tour with Markella, our first being three years ago. In this 3 hour tour Markella was able to combine two very different topics ( at our request), Ancient Greek Mythology and Greece from its inception as a nation to the more modern period. Markella was able to weave these two topics together as we wandered the streets of central Athens. Her knowledge of the topics and her obvious love of her home city really made this another very special time for us. It was like spending time with an old friend and we cannot recommend her highly enough.A second wonderful tour of Athens

Markella a été chaleureuse et très professionnelle durant toute notre visite. Grâce à elle nous avons découvert Athènes, son histoire, sa culture et la sensibilité des Athéniens, le tout au travers des sites, leur architecture et surtout ses narrations. Before traveling to Greece, I felt overwhelmed because the time required to research where to go in Athens. I had never been before and it was important to me to be able to learn about the history, culture, people, food and the authentic life of people in Athens. I wanted a special experience for my husband and I and we only had one weekend together to experience Athens. Markella went above and beyond for us. She made it so easy for us. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide. What drew us to Markella was that she’s a native to Athens, she’s a licensed tour guide and that she speaks French and English fluently (as my husband is French and I am American), it was helpful that she was able to communicate in both our native languages. The tour felt like your best friend taking you on a journey of a lifetime. Her extensive knowledge of Greek history and her passion made this experience incredibly special. Markella is generous, kind, fun and she took us to places that only locals would know. I highly recommend Markella and am beyond grateful for the experience she created for us. Markella is the best!!!!

Markella meet us on time and was very friendly. She was knowledgeable and proud to be an Athenian. Tour included information on ancient and modern Greece which was interesting. It was a private tour for two people. After finishing, we realised it was 30 min short and we didn’t get our local drink or snack. Tour was good but if you want to see the main tourist attractions it may be better to book a more conventional tour. Friendly knowledgeable guide

Markella was a delight and her explanation and tell of Mythology to current history keep me so very engaged. I learned new things and gained a better understanding of everything I thought I already knew. If you are looking for a casual paced but packed full of information try this out. 10/10Athens historical tour

On our yearly men's event we travelled (4 of us) to Athen. We booked Markella for an Akropolis/museum tour early in the morning. It was just an impressive, informative an entertaining 3 hours tour. We learned a lot about ancient history but also discussed topics of the current greek society. Highly recommendable tour! Thx Matkella for the good timeAmazing informative tour

Markella was an excellent guide and new about the construction of the Acropolis in and out. She gave us a detailed tour of the museum, explaining where all the items on display were located on the actual Parthenon, and then she walked us up the hill to share the history of it.
