We enjoyed our morning with Mateo. He provided us with a better understanding of the historic center of Madrid and also helped us, before we ended the tour, to plan our remaining days in the city. He knew the city well and we enjoyed his low-key and very comfortable way of relating. I would unhesitatingly recommend him. Great Intro to Madrid

Mateo is a pleasant host, punctual, a Spanish citizen from Ecuador. We both thought there would be more content to this walk about. The tour is overpriced as such. Pleasant but overpriced

I had high hopes for this food and wine tour. We selected Mateo as our tour guide since he would provide us also with some history of Madrid while taking us to places where locals eat and drink. We selected the time slot of 6-9pm on a Sunday since it was available. We didn’t think this would cause any issues. We were wrong. Instead of experiencing “The 10 tastings of Madrid” we mainly experienced a history tour. In the end we only experienced 4 shareable appetizers and 2 wines or beers per person. The majority of the time was spent walking past places that we would have eaten at if they weren’t closed, which was a lot of places. At this point I’m not sure who’s to blame—the organization that allows these time slots to be available or the tour guide who should have done a better job of planning out our stops to make sure locations were open or providing us with more food options at the limited stops we had. Either way we definitely DID NOT get our money’s worth the more we had time to reflect on the tour. It’s very frustrating to know how much money we spent for the small amount of food and drinks we got on this tour considering we had an amazing experience in Portugal doing the same thing but with completely different results. It would be great if some form of refund is provided due to fact that we didn’t get what was advertised. Skip This Tour, Venture On Your Own
