We travel a lot, and try to use private local guides on a regular basis. Mateus is one of the best guys we have had. He presented a great combination of history and local current information about Coimbra. The tour was very personalized to our needs, introducing us to the area and making suggestions for the rest of our stay. We enjoy learning about the history of the places we visit and he had a deep knowledge of the area. It was not from a standard presentation, but was able to answer all of our varied questions. You can tell that he is still very excited about being a tour guide and is eager to give you a good experience. I cannot recommend him highly enough. Best Guide in Years.

Mateus showed us Coimbra during a 3 hours tour. We learned a lot about the history of Coimbra and Portugal and saw the most important sites. Mateus is a very enthusiatic guide. Mateus was an excellent tour guide, prompt, cheerful, good command of English and Coimbra. Happy to oblige us with any special request, take pictures, spend extra time more than expected. Highly recommended. difficult to do the price value rating, as it was worth it. What does that mean? 5 out of 10 average, or meets expectation ? 10 out of 10? I don't know. Main thing we were very satisfied with the tour.Excellent tour with Mateus

We were in Coimbra for only one day and wanted to make the most of our visit. Mateus had great knowledge of everything in the city and even adapted our tour around an appointment at the library. He was an amazing guide and I recommend his tour to everyone! Amazing Coimbra Tour!

My wife and I had a great time with Mateus. He was very knowledgeable about the area and places we visited along with what to do on our own. We were grateful to spend the time with him and share our experiences with traveling the world with him. At over twice his age it was great to discuss what his future travel life may hold. Coimbra is a great city. Battling a bit of rain but one just needs a proper outfit to still enjoy the day. I asked if Mateus could provide us a couple of umbrellas and he was able to do so. We also took a nice break with him at a local cafe. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Mateus to others. Great afternoon with Mateus

Mataeus our guide was great. He was so knowledgeable and interesting to listen to. He gave us an amazing tour around the city showing us all the main areas plus some hidden gems. He gave us some fantastic restaurant recommendations too. I would 100% recommend doing this tour with him. The warmest welcome to Coimbra!
