Hello, my name is Michèle and I'm from Canada. I have been living in Berlin since 2014 and tour guiding since 2017. I'm an opera singer by trade and have lived in New York, Montreal, London and St. Petersburg Russia. A life-long lover of learning I spent my twenties travelling and completing a Master's of Music and postgraduate degrees focusing on Russian vocal music.

My passions are travelling, (51 countries and counting- of course, taking tours wherever I go!) languages, learning about other cultures, music, sports, writing and history. As a classical musician, much of my education was centred around German history and culture as German composers and poets are some of the most important in the development of western classical music. Berlin captured my heart because it combines so many of the things that make my soul happy. Berlin's rich musical and art heritage bring so many opportunities for international artists. Specifically, the past hundred years of history have left a lasting impact on this city and have made it the unique melting pot of cultures that make Berlin the great city that it is. My passion is sharing these experiences while continuing to explore and learn more about this great city.

We booked Michèle through a word-of-mouth suggestion and it was a great call. Michèle was exactly the right blend of knowledgable, relaxed and helpful. She didn't rush, she listened to our needs and preferences and tailored our tour so well. It was much more like being with a friend than a "tour guide". Not knowing Berlin really at all we were slightly apprehensive at the prospect of biking in a big city, but it was perfect - most of the tour is not on busy streets, and even the busier bits were relatively calm. It never felt risky or stressful at all, especially with Michèle on hand. Book her today, you won't regret it!Michèle is amazing

It happened to be really cold that day. We were a large group. Michelle was still able to accommodate us and stayed energetic thorough out the whole tour. She is clearly passionate about what she does and would highly recommend her. My only complaint would be that we did not get to hear opera voice!!!Great knowlegde

We had just a short window of time in Berlin with two friends who had never visited before, and I was so happy to find Michele to give us this quick tour of some of the highlights. She was such a pleasure to spend the afternoon with, like running into a super cool opera singer friend in Berlin! Having spent quite a bit of time in Berlin myself in the past, I thought her route and highlights and explanations were a great mix of old and new, history and what’s happening currently in Berlin. She gave us some good suggestions for finding a bite to eat and followed up in With Locals messenger with more - much appreciated! I would definitely book another longer tour with Michele next time. Michèle's tour was wonderful. She was easy to talk to and gave us the perfect balance of the "required viewing" in Berlin along with our particular interests. She pointed us to a great spot for dinner afterwards. Highly recommend!The perfect tour

Michele gave my husband and I a fascinating tour of all the main sites in central Berlin. We'd arranged this for the first full day of our trip, and I would recommend this timing as she also provided great suggestions of things to do on the following days. We learnt so much about the city and its history in a really enjoyable way, plus some great pointers as to where to find good craft beer. And we were lucky enough to manage to buy seats for the Berlin State Opera's wonderful production of Nabucco and watched Michele performing in the chorus! Brilliant & thought provoking tour.

Visiting Berlin with Michele was a tour de force in seeing the important sights in the present day city center and understanding the events and forces that shaped it over the centuries. In one amazing morning Michele showed and gave in depth perspective on the key cultural, educational and political sites and enabled us to navigate the city. She was flexible with accommodating our interests. She even gave us some excellent recommendations for restaurants. I highly recommend her tour to first time visitors and returning visitors who want to get an in-depth understanding of the city. Berlin today and it’s complicated past
