Very informative, interesting morning historical walking tour with Mohd. Really helped us appreciate more of the history of Penang. Thank you!Highlu informative & enjoyable
This tour is an amazing experience that covers so more than just food. Remy is an incredibly interesting and passionate guy, who led us to food spots that we never would have discovered ourselves, coupled with wide-ranging chats about food, history, and philosophy. The relaxed pace of the tour shows that Remy really cares about his guests having a personalised experience. Highly recommend! Great experience
We very much enjoyed all the food we tried, particularly getting a fast-track past the queue to try the famous laksa which was delicious. Our guide was welcoming and very chatty, however this led to a slow pace to the tour with our guide chatting for a while even when we had finished eating and were trying to indicate we wanted to move on. This led to our tour lasting around 4 hours, 1 hour longer than advertised with only 7 stops hit.Great food but slow pace
Remy was friendly, passionate and knowledgeable. A great time tasting different foods and drinks whilst hearing his stories about Penang, his life and the foods. He had good rapport with all the traders. Everything was lovely and we even had some extra goodies to take back for later. Well worth the money for having a personal guide. Tasting tour
Remy was excellent and gave us a great insight into Georgetown , its history , culture and cuisine . We thoroughly enjoyed our tour. Excellent Tour
Mohd took pride in showcasing and explaining the history/artist behind each piece of the fabulous array of street art often hidden away in Georgetown streets. He made the street come alive. Interspersed he shared tips on local food and restaurants. A great walking tour and cultural experience with Mohd bringing it to life. Enlightening street art walking tour
A brilliant tour and Remy was a great guide - good local knowledge and a really nice guy. We enjoyed all of the different food and drink along the way, we just wish we had the appetite to eat more! Thoroughly recommended.Fantastic food tour
As we are planning to stay in Georgetown, Panang for several days, we really wanted some good advice about what and where to eat locally, rather than stick to the 'safe', overpriced and usually watered down food sold in the main tourist areas.
Remy started the tour by double checking our dietary needs, likes and dislikes and then took us on a thorough tour of street food venues. At each he gave a thorough explanation as to why it was a good one and what other dishes we should try if we went back by ourselves, as well as the best way to eat them. It's amazing what a difference it makes to mix certain things together rather than eat separately!
Remy also explained about the local history and religions, which helped us to focus on eating the range of delicious dishes he ordered for us. The whole tour was well planned and paced so that we had 'rest' drinks and snacks between larger dishes so that we didn't get uncomfortably full.
As well as showing us a range of places to go to for drinks afterwards, and introducing us to staff there, he also pointed venues to avoid for various reasons.
By the end of the tour, we had several bags of sweets, snacks and a meal to take with us, to enjoy later once we were hungry again. All were delicious and interesting and we returned today to buy more.
The tour definitely fulfilled its purpose for us and it was really enjoyable spending time with such a friendly and passionate local like Remy. We'd thoroughly recommend him as a guide. A great introduction to eating in Panang
We thoroughly enjoyed our off the beaten track tour with Remy, who was both very knowledgeable and personable. Well worth the money 10/10. John & Sheila from the UKRemy
