Naphat

Hi, I'm Naphat, a licensed tour guide in northern and around Thailand. I've always loved traveling, meeting, and seeing new places, new people, and new cultures since backpacking in Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, and Myanmar after school.

I started meditation for mindfulness in 2001 while traveling through Myanmar. At the time it blew my mind especially when I mixed the insights of Buddhist philosophy and practices daily through my travels as a life experience of seeing and understanding from a different perspective of Eastern and Western eye views which I would like to share with you who are interested in the same field.

I also trained a tour guide for tourism for all accessible tourism, blinded tourists, and handicapped tourists. I wish to share the beautiful Thailand through my eyes with love and care at a professional level.

Now, I am a tour guide and meditation teacher. With my 22+ years of meditation experience and graduating from Monks University, plus becoming a Buddhist Nun to study and practice what the Buddha taught. I always try to merge insights from Buddhist philosophy into my tours to see how we apply them in our daily lives. And I hope to help struggling amateurs, better their skills to get the rewards of Mindfulness. Believe me, it's easier than you think. You just have to know some tricks☺

I grew up in a small village in the countryside but lived in the metropolis of Bangkok for 10 years before moving back to the idyllic northern capital of Chiang Mai. Thus, I can show you Thai culture, history, society, politics, and Buddhist philosophy from a modern and varied perspective from those who lived in a time of change in Thailand, in the way of the East meets Western eye views.

We had a fantastic day out with Naphat, we were so glad she was able to cater for our very last minute booking :) We visited the white temple and blue temple in Chiang Rai and we were able to understand both the history & cultural context of both as well as get a really good insight into Thai Buddhism which underlies behaviour and belief systems - super interesting and we really appreciated how open Naphat was to our questions - she was genuinely excited to share! The white temple was the highlight and really understanding it made a huge difference (i had visited previously by myself and it was really quite a shallow experience!) I’ve lived in Thailand for 10 years and i still learnt a lot about what makes the Thai people tick from just one day with Naphat! Highly recommended, really friendly, helpful and professional! Our driver was also very good - smooth ride, felt very safe and comfortable, necessary for that long drive!

Naphat is an outstanding guide. I had a great day with her, driving to and from Chiang Rai and visiting the main sights. It was quite a long day but it was fascinating to talk with her and benefit from her wealth of knowledge about Buddhism. She is extremely friendly and was very open to adjusting the amount of information provided according to my capacity/interests. I would strongly recommend Naphat. After plans fell through with another agency, my family last minute booked a trip with Naphat to Chiang Rai- and we couldn’t be more pleased! She was so accommodating to all of our needs and allowed us flexibility to craft our own schedule, prioritizing the sights we wanted to see. We visited the blue and white temples, both of which she had a wealth of information for. She was able to share so much insight about Thai history and cultural beliefs and practices, also the symbolism present in both of the temples. We would have had such a stunted experience at these places without her guidance. I can also say her presence is very friendly and warm (and she is so patient!) - it is quite enjoyable to pass the day with her. Also no worries for language barriers, as her English is exceptional. She communicates everything very well and it is easy to understand her. She went above and beyond to be helpful towards us and make sure we had a one-of-a-kind experience. Our trip was a great experience but after spending the day with Naphat our time in Chiang Mai will always be remembered in a much better light thanks to her She was so knowledgeable and was able to answer any and all questions we had and was a pleasure to be around. We can't recommend her enough and we will most definitely be seeking out her vast knowledge and welcoming demeanor on our next trip to Chiang Mai! She made our trip!

We had the pleasure of a memorable 3 hours with our guide Naphat. During this tour we would visit several venues where we would taste 5 (or more) dishes. Naphat informed us that we would be tasting Chiang Mai's signature street food and that all the vendors had been vetted for their quality. We began with a tasting of arguably Chiang Mai's famous street food Khao Soi Gai. We also purchased some Khao Kha Moo and sat down to eat. They were both delicious and perfectly represented the amazing complex flavours in Thai cuisine. I have to say that the Khao Kha Moo was my favourite with its delectable gooey gelatinous pork melting in our mouths. Next we visited a local food market where we purchased some Sai Oua (Pork Sausage) and Chiang Mai's street food version of KFC. We stood on a bridge looking over Chiang Mai's night time lights twinkling over the river while we ate our delicious food with some sticky rice. Naphat has a infectious charismatic personality and we found ourselves deep in philosophical conversation between mouthfuls of delectable Thai street food. We thoroughly recommend Naphat. You will love her company and the food that she presents.Chiang Mai never tasted better

My daughter and I had the most special day with Naphat. We wanted to visit and learn more about the temples in/around Chiang Mai and she took us on a lovely tour through the Old City and to a few spots outside. She has such a wealth of knowledge and we learned so much about each temple as well as Buddhism and Thailand as a whole. She created a very meaningful connection with us and we had many conversations that gave us new perspectives. We also never felt rushed and she welcomed us to ask questions and take our time. Our hearts are full from this day and will cherish these memories. We are so glad we decided to take her tour instead of the more generic tours within the city. We highly recommend booking with Naphat!
