Niamh

I’m Niamh and I was born and raised here in Edinburgh and love showing new visitors around my home city. I studied Acting and English Literature at University and with this came a love for storytelling and history. Scottish people are famous for lots of things; whisky, inventions and above all else storytelling! My tours are not a boring history lesson they are a hand picked collection of my favourite tales that explain the amazing people and interesting events that shaped this city. We’ll cover Scottish culture, history and way of life. I can’t wait to meet you and show you around!

Niamh has an engaging personality and is an incredible story teller. We learned many dark and odd secrets of Edinburgh’s most famous characters. As a local, she has more inside knowledge and experiences than most. Added bonus - she has a beautiful voice as she sang a folk song during our walk. Wonderful Day

Niamh was brilliant during the walking tour. A true sunshine despite the gloomy pouring rain. Her stories were engaging and humorous and she offered many tips for restaurants and bars and places of interests. And boy you have to listen to her sing.Hidden gems with Niamh!

Our visit to Edinburgh castle was made even better by our very knowledgable tour guide Niamh. She was great fun and a brilliant story teller of the history associated with the castle. After the tour concluded we were free to roam the inside of the castle buildings. Had a great time.History brought alive with our guide Niamh.

Thank you Niamh for this amazing tour through beautiful Edinburgh!! I learned so much about this beautiful city and wasn’t even expecting to learn that much because I expected this tour to be a classic tour in which the guide just speaks by rote and the more interesting part is not what the guide tells but what you see. But this tour wasn’t like this at all. The more interesting part beside the beautiful city was to listen to Niamh and her funny way to tell stories! I enjoyed it so much and appreciate all the things she though us about Edinburghs history !Niamh was a joy!
