We loved seeing Gibraltar from the perspective of a local. Orlando met us promptly, seeking us out in a bakery when communication on the app was slow. Though his car is older and not perfect, it was very comfortable for the three of us. Orlando is still learning English, so if you don't speak Portugese, expect some back and forth finding correct words. As an emerging Spanish speaker myself, it was not unusual for me. We always found a way to communicate. Because he is a private car, Orlando cannot drive his passengers to the top of the rock where the nature reserve is located, but he took us to the cable car and waited while we went up to take photos. Before we got in line he assured us he would wait, even if it took a bit longer than our contracted time, which we felt was very generous! (Ignore the minibus hawkers at the entrance of the queue who say it takes one hour just to get through the line) For us touring with Orlando was the perfect combination of seeing the views we had hoped for and seeing the hidden sights only a local would know about. It was also great that my 82 year old mother didn't have to walk so much. The lighthouse was a real highlight. Gorgeous views. Orlando was able to explain exactly what we were seeing across the water, which made the experience so much richer. He also knew about a hidden very small museum at the lighthouse that had so much information on the history of Gibraltar. If you are looking for a wonderful day in Gibraltar without the huge crowds, I highly recommend touring with Orlando!Off The Beaten Track with Orlando!
