Richard is a Tourist & Nature Guide licensed by Singapore Tourism Board. He is a nature lover and also a wildlife photographer specialising in Birds Photography. He grew up in a rural area known as a kampong at the North Eastern part of Singapore. His family practised living off the land and off the sea where he acquired the practical knowledge on the “way of nature”. He enjoys living a healthy and adventurous lifestyle and love meeting people and sharing personal experiences.

We wanted to get out the tourist areas and so found this great tour with Richard "Off the Beaten Track". Richard is very knowledgeable and passionate about Singapore. He took us through Kampong Lorong Buangkok which is the last kampong located in Singapore, it was just incredible. He shared lots of valuable information with us through out the 3hr tour. We walked and we also took the bus as well. At the end of the tour he took us to a Hawkers food market which we shared some Roti Prata and fish curry sauce which was truly delicious, actually the best I have ever tasted. Going to Kampong on your own you will miss so much about the history, so well worth going on this fabulous tour.Fantastic experience

We enjoyed a great 5 hours + tour with Richard. He was friendly and engaging, making sure that he covered all that we were interested in. He was kind enough to meet us at our hotel rather than us having to deal with the MRT as first time visitors. We only had a short time in Singapore and this gave us the chance to learn about the history and way of life. I’m sure we will be back and would gladly choose Richard to be our guide again.Excellent overview of Singapore

Great trip with Richard in Pasir Ris Park in Singapore. Lots of birds and other local wildlife. Richard is a great guy to spend time with, lots of local knowledge and insights about the local flora and fauna but also plenty of interesting narrative about growing up in the area as a young boy, which brings it all to life. He's also a very knowledgeable photographer, willing to guide a hobby photographer like me on settings and composition. I highly recommend a morning stroll with Richard in Singapore.

My husband and I came to Singapore for the first time from Canada! Our tour guide was switched from our original booking the day before to Richard. Maybe we got lucky! Richard met us on time and was a wonderful source of information. He walked with us for 4 hours and gave us a great understanding of the struggles and triumphs of Singapore! He was born and raised here and his pride for his country was overflowing!! We tried Kaya Toast and coffee, ice cream sandwiches and he arranged for us to have chicken and rice in Chinatown. He taught us how to use the efficient transportation system and we were brave enough to go to Chinatown alone for dinner and find more affordable breakfast options for the remainder of our trip! Priceless! This man can walk fast, has quick wit and a kind heart! Go for a walk in Singapore with Richard!! Take a walk with Richard!

We only had one full day. Richard was excellent in giving us what we asked for. We like history and he knew his history. We got a very good over view from a local perspective in 5 hours. The only reason I would say it wasn’t perfect was that little India was disappointing. I would rather of been told to spend my time going elsewhere. But we included it on our list so that is not on him. 5 hours was not enough. I wish we had done more. Richard was a real person and great to speak with. We really liked him. Quick Singapore

I spent a fantastic four hours photographing birds with Richard on a rainy Sunday. Richard led me through several different ecosystems to capture as many birds (and other wildlife) as possible. Richard also was a great help to me, a beginner photographer, teaching me ways to help me improve my photography. Richard is a wonderful guide, photographer, teacher, and artist. Our tour with Richard was super nice and informative. Our expectations were more than exceeded. We learned a lot about Singapore and its people in a really special way. We've never had such a great city tour before. Even our kids were impressed until the end. I can highly recommend the WITHLOCALS tours. Richard got involved with us as a family and showed and taught us a lot of things that we wholeheartedly accepted and took home with us. I could write a lot about it here now, but I don't want to spoil the many surprises on this tour for anyone :) We would like to thank Richard from the bottom of our hearts. Wow is all I can say about Richard, what a breath of fresh air this man is ! From the moment my husband and I met him, we were impressed by his enthusiasm and passion about Singapore. Richard is a wealth of knowledge about all things Singapore and very passionate nature lover. He took us to a lovely old part of Singapore that most people would not usually go to, so that was a nice experience! At the end of our tour he took us to an area where the locals eat and the street food was fantastic! We highly recommend having Richard as a guide when visiting Singapore !Touring Singapore
