Wat een superleuke fietstocht hadden we met Rosen in Madrid met de familie! Hij zorgde ervoor dat ons gezin zich direct thuis voelde, met goede fietsen voor iedereen. Onze kinderen hadden allebei een leuke fiets uit mogen kiezen en die van ons waren ook prima. We fietsten heerlijk buiten het drukke centrum, vooral door het prachtige Madrid Río Park. Hier genoten we van de groene oevers en staken we iconische bruggen over zoals de Puente de Toledo en de moderne Puente de Arganzuela. De kinderen vonden de stops geweldig, met verschillende speeltuinen en een gave kabelbaan die ze keer op keer deden! Rosen nam ons ook mee naar Matadero Madrid, een gave culturele plek in een oud slachthuis. Echt iets wat we zelf nooit ontdekt zouden hebben. Rosen deelde veel leuke weetjes over Madrid en zijn passie voor fietsen was duidelijk voelbaar. Our family had an absolutely fantastic time on our recent bike tour of Madrid with Rosen. From the moment we met, Rosen made us feel incredibly welcome and ensured everyone, especially our young kids, had a comfortable and enjoyable experience. The bikes provided were excellent – we could choose between city or mountain styles, and even our youngest had their own perfectly sized bike, which made all the difference. Rosen clearly loves cycling, and his passion for bike tours shines through in every aspect. Instead of navigating the bustling city center, Rosen expertly led us on a wonderful route primarily off the beaten track. We cycled along the beautiful Madrid Río Park, which was once the old Manzanares riverbed, crossing charming bridges and enjoying the serene environment. We then ventured through a part of the Casa de Campo Park, complete with a lovely lake, offering a peaceful escape from the urban hustle. A real highlight was visiting Matadero Madrid, a former slaughterhouse transformed into a vibrant cultural center. This was a place we would never have discovered on our own, and it was fascinating to explore its unique architecture and the interesting exhibition on display. Rosen also made sure to include fantastic stops for the kids, with various playgrounds and even a thrilling cable ride that they absolutely loved. Throughout the tour, Rosen was an exceptional host. He shared fascinating insights about Madrid and about himself, making the experience feel personal and engaging. He was attentive to our needs, making sure we were always comfortable and enjoying the ride. Rosen is a nice guy. Unfortunately, and despite my specific request to see the whole of Madrid in a three hour tour with experienced bike riders, Rosen took us on a tour that covered a park on the south side of Madrid. Per Rosen he was not allowed to take us into Madrid. Had Rosen told me in the beginning that my request would not be met I would not have booked the tour. Much to our surprise we later saw many bicycle tour groups in Madrid. So we paid Euro 240 for a tour that was very disappointing. Disappointing

We had a wonderful time. The places we visited was perfect for the bike with less people so you can enjoy the ride. Our guide was really nice and explained all the basic information Excellent bike ride

Rosen is great …he is a little on the shy side, but knowledgeable and in great shape. If you want to push the bike ride a little harder you can with Rosen. Bike around Madrid

Our first trip to Spain, and a family bike tour. Rosen provide insightful information on the city, culture, and people. We enjoyed our time riding through the city, bridges, and parks. Would highly recommend Rosen! Rosen was fantastic!

1. meeting arrangement (the one-on-one tour is scheduled for Wednesday): 1a. Monday evening I'm writing my first message to the guide giving my eating preferences. Tuesday evening I still haven't received a reply, asking again. The guide answers 1b. I'm asking if the guide currently resembles himself at the photo, and since it's more of a thumbnail, also describing myself. Quoting myself: "in case I won't recognize you, I'm middle-aged, semi-bald white of slight build wearing beige shoes, beige pants, beige short-sleeved shirt and a grey bag over a shoulder. Should be enough : )". I'm also mentioning the fact that I don't have a local SIM card and thus won't have Internet in the phone when meeting 2. meeting. I fail to recognise the guide, the profile photo was too small for my eyes. Not sure, though, how the guide was unable to locate me: I was looking around for 20 minutes trying, among other things, to find anyone however remotely looking like my own description -- no one, not a single guy in beige with a grey bag over a shoulder. And we stood just three meters apart. The guide was sending me chat messages (and I told him I had no Internet). In the end, he gave me a few calls, and I was finally able to hear the third one (noisy place, no words getting through), and spot him as someone holding a phone against the ear 3. five places out of promised ten. No explanation. Not a peep about the advertised "everything about the culinary aspects of Madrid and the history behind the local family-run bars" etc 4. the guide is apparently well-meaning in his own way but from the outside it also looks as an attention deficit 5. the question I'm inevitably asking myself: if part of the fee goes to the guide and another part is payment for expected culinary delights, then if the program is shortened this dramatically, does it mean the guide additionally awards oneself at my expense??Five tastings instead of the promised ten (and more)

Rosen was very knowledgeable and did a great job telling us all about the food and local culture in Madrid. The food was excellent and included a variety of tapas, dessert, and drinks! We all enjoyed the tour and our two boys (aged 4 and 7) loved Rosen and had a great time! We highly recommend! Wonderful time for the whole family!

Rosen was a nice guy but he didn’t really seem to be much of an enthusiastic foodie. We certainly didn’t get value for money with this tour.Sadly a bit underwhelming

Rosen was a very personable host whose company we enjoyed. The places we visited were very close to where we are staying so we will get the chance now to go back and explore further. Each offered a slightly different experience. Highlight for me would be the first stop - Lamiak where the Goats cheese, tomato and caramelised onion dish was lovely and matched beautifully with the Albarino white wine. Rosen had good wine knowledge. We probably talked more about wine that tapas, but that was enjoyable too. We finished with Bodegas which is a quirky little bar with a very friendly bar manager. A great way to end the night with Sardines and Vermouth. We even managed and invitation to a local musical gig a few nights later courtesy of the manager.
