Hey there! I'm Sarah, I'm an expat hailing all the way from Canada. I've been here for the past 25 years! A pretty long time! As a result I've pretty much turned into a Venetian, I speak fluent Italian, which I learned in the city so inevitably I picked up the Venetian dialect too! :)

I love to go off the beaten path away from the usual tourist traps away from the hustle and bustle of the usual sights. I worked for years as an artisan so naturally my favourite thing to do is to explore the workshops of the local artisans. From mask making to glass bead makers to beautiful silk tapistries and so on and so forth. The history to be told is so facinating and well worth telling.

Local food and the spritz are an integrated part of my every day life! 🤩🤪 So come along with me as I show you around to the best spots in town!!

We booked Sara last minute to take us on a walk about the lesser known areas of Venice and share local knowledge so we could get a peak into Venetian life beyond the hot spots and must sees! Sara was informative, flexible and just a delight to have as a guide. She kept our 14 year old engaged and we had a really interesting 2.5 hour walk stopping along the way at mask makers, gelato and points of historical interest. Highly recommended and really was worth it! It’s not our first time in Venice but we got so much more out of this tour than we have on our previous trips. Also her restaurant, local artisan, bakery and other recommendations made the rest of our trip equally memorable Thank you Sara for a fabulous peak into Venetian life beyond- past and present! The hours flew by….

We had such a great tour with Sarah, who explained first how Venice is setup and where we are, plus some history. We ventured into a mask workshop to discover the history of the venice masks. We learned a lot of local insights and stories which you normally wouldn’t get to know of. It was also much less crowded and more fun to walk with a local. Thanks a million, Sarah. Yes, it’s possible! First off, we found Sarah to be a very professional and knowledgeable guide. Our communication prior to end during our stay in Venice was excellent. What I really liked was her in-depth knowledge of the stories behind a lot of of the sites that we saw. What was enjoyable, was to walk down various side streets and then pop out into the plazas to see the important sites, and that was the only time we would come into contact with the throngs of visitors. A little bit of an exaggeration, but really felt we didn’t have to fight our way through the city constantly. I also appreciated the way that Sarah kept our safety front and center of our tour. Given I had my 16-year-old granddaughter with me, this was most important. Venice is a very complicated city and it was nice to have someone with such good local knowledge. Sarah was great. We did an off the beaten trail. She used to do mask workshops so she showed us some genuine shops and explained how they’re made and the significance. We got to ask her lots of questions about life in Venice which was interesting. We wanted to avoid the crowds and she shared her old neighborhood. You could tell she loved it. I would have liked to contact Sarah ahead of the trip and talk more about the plan as I would have made some alterations based on the price. My e-mail was wrong so communication with the company was a struggle and they couldn’t correct it.daily life through a local’s eye

We had a fabulous morning with Sarah in Venice. When we met, Sarah chatted to us and got a feel for what we would like to see before we set off. Venice was busy because of the Carnivale but Sarah took us to some quieter areas which we loved. We also visited some local craftspeople in their studios and tried the local festival donuts. A really lovely morning and just what we wanted, thank you Sarah! Fabulous tour thank you

Our group of six adults from Michigan, USA loved our experience with Sarah this past August! Sarah was easy to locate and made a great first impression, getting to know our preferences and what we were looking of in our day in Venice. She showed us the architectural highlights, explained Venetian culture, and gave us "bite sized" bits of history along with authentic eats on our food tour! Sarah, most importantly, gave us a look at winding streets and "off the beaten path" canals we would've never seen without her "insider" advice.
