We had a really good experience on our tour of Shibuya, Meiji, Shinjuku and many stops in between, with Abu, our guide for a bespoke tour with food stop at an excellent sushi restaurant in a building I have no idea how to fine again! And that’s kind of the point of doing a Withlocals tour - you can easily go to Shibuya or Shinjuku by yourself but as tourists in a strange land it really helps to have someone like Abu to guide your steps, even if you have first guided his as to where you would like to go, as we did because we have been to Tokyo before, so did not want to be taken to all of the more obvious places. It was a very hot day, so Abu was careful to include stops and frequent visits to air conditioned buildings and to make the occasional detour via a pachinko arcade or a food court to get some cool air and cut off a corner! The sushi was great, and the Sake tasting was too - even though it confirmed my already formed opinion that I just don’t like sake. Sorry Japan, sorry Abu. The walk to Meiji shrine was fun and Abu regaled us with history lessons galore. He also took some great pictures, with his own phone which he sent us and with ours too. Abu is a much better photographer than I am, so we were glad to get these. The other advantage of taking such a tour was all the side tips - a whiskey museum, an entrance to our hotel from a metro line, a metro line to Nakano Broadway that was hard to see on a map, and plenty more little snippets that made our next two days a little easier. Abu is a great guide. He showed us all the important spots and knew exactly where to take us when we had specific requests to see something. He took family pictures of us and knew the good spots where to take them. He is very nice and we had a good time. Amazing

We did the Kick-Start Tour in Shinjuku with Abu and really enjoyed it. In a short time, he showed us many interesting spots and answered all our questions about Tokyo – from how to get around the city to useful tips for the next few days. It was a great way to begin our trip and helped us feel more confident exploring on our own. Thanks again, Abu!A warm welcome to Tokyo

Abu is such a great guide. He is very knowledgeable and very kind. Abu really showed all sides of Asakusa and some other places, beginning with the market of the old city with some information about the city name and the market temples. After we got some popular and delicious local snacks which were totally not busy at the time. At the end Abu showed us the giant gaming and anime neighborhood of 10 story high game stores which was completely surreal. Abu was not in a hurry to finish the tour, on the contrary, he just wanted to show us all the places that we were interested in and took all the time to take us to there. We will definitely book Abu again if we come back!

We spent a great few hours with a friendly Abu. The communication prior to meeting was very good - he rearranged the meeting point to make it more convenient for us, along with suggesting a changed itinerary which provided us with a richer tour. We ate an enormous amount of food in the fish market! Come with an empty stomach… I’d thoroughly recommend him as a guide.Food tour with Abu

We had an amazing time on our walking tour with Abu. We had already discussed where we wanted to go and what sights we wanted to see, and Abu put a great itinerary together to make sure all our needs were met. He brought us to vantage points we would never had discovered ourselves. He also took amazing photos of us at all the sights, which will make great memories for us . I would highly recommend Abu as a guide. He had great knowledge of all the areas we visited.He was very professional. He was friendly and interesting and we had a very pleasant day with him. Abu was a great guide, made our first full day in Tokyo a much better experience by explaining the history of the sights we were seeing and overall development of the area. He walked us through food and entertainment areas, sharing tips, where to go, and what to avoid, always adding some helpful bit of information or a story as we went along. He showed us shopping areas and stayed with us as we bought some items and where to buy an umbrella we needed for the rain. He was a huge help as we bought our train tickets and planned the next 2 days of our trip. He’s a great guy and highly recommended. Abu Was AWESOME

Wow! Where do I even begin? Our family of four had an absolutely off-the-charts food tour with MD — this guy is a Tokyo street food sensei! Before we even set foot near the stalls, he made sure to check our dietary quirks and cravings so he could plan the ultimate feast. And let me tell you, he delivered! Without him, we would’ve wandered in circles and missed every delicious hidden gem tucked away in those side alleys. MD guided us like a pro — patiently letting us poke around, feeding us tasty bites, sprinkling in fascinating "bites" of history, and even throwing in surprise stops at nearby sights. Seriously, this tour was the highlight of our entire trip. We left full of food, fun facts, and big smiles.
