I am a lifelong Oaxacan with deep roots in the city, and I am passionate about sharing my enthusiasm about this place I love and know so well!

My father was an architect and historian, so since childhood, I've been immersed in all that makes Oaxaca unique. As an artist and a longtime teacher, I want others to see Oaxaca as I do and gain an appreciation of its crafts, its culinary traditions, and its rich mix of cultures.

There is nothing I enjoy more than introducing others to all Oaxaca has to offer! I will share with you those places Oaxacans love most.

We had such a wonderful experience with Tanivet on the Hidden Gems Tour. She took us to places we never would have discovered on our own and guided us through areas we might not have ventured into otherwise. Throughout the day she was incredibly attentive, making sure we were comfortable and that all of our questions were answered. Her knowledge and care really elevated the experience. Highly recommend booking with her if you want to see a more authentic and special side of the area.Tanivet was absolutely amazing!

This was a spectacular tour, both for the day's features (which are magnificent) as well as the tour guide. Tanivet wasn't only relating information, but she was calling upon decades of first hand knowledge of Monte Albán. Her father had worked at the site for years, and she knows a lot of back history and tells stories about how it used to look before it became more organized for tourism. Very strong recommendation.We loved Tanivet!

Tanivet was incredibly knowledgeable, warm, and patient with us and our two kids (7 and 10). We learned about the city's history, art, and culture. We toured through the city, had great drinking chocolate, visited the local landmarks, and she kept us rapt the whole time.
