Hi I am Tommi! Firstly when thinking about Amsterdam, many name things like the Anne Frank museum, Van Gogh museum, Rembrandt, The Red Light District and the coffeeshops. But Amsterdam is truly so much more!! Eleven years ago I started as a guide, the experience showing and touring around the city of Amsterdam and the Netherlands as a private guide, as well for many groups, is something I still love doing every day! Meeting amazing people from around the world.

I have Aspergers Syndrome (autism), and because I am a little different, I have the gift of detail. I show Amsterdam from a different perspective and angle! With my enthusiasm, sociality and love for details, I will show you my city, its history and its hidden secrets, which even most Amsterdam locals don’t know about! Bringing you to places where most tourists don’t even come.

Tommi met us in the morning, asked us what we had going on that day, and customized an all day walking tour with us. He gave very generously of his time, was extremely knowledgeable about the city, and made really wonderful selections for things to take us to. I cannot recommend him highly enough. If you are interested in history and learning more about Dutch culture you will not be disappointed. He also knew a lot about architecture, and while we didn't ask for this in advance, we were super happy to get to learn about the history of many of the buildings and the architectural tradition here. What's more, he gave us homework for things to do in our trailing days in the city that weren't the main tourist things to do. 10/10 with great enthusiasm from our whole group. I booked Tommi for a three hour walking tour of Amsterdam, and it turned out brilliantly. Tommi was on time at the meeting point, a good way to start. We walked a short distance to one of the main streets and then on the train station. Even at these first two sights Tommi was full of knowledge and information much more than just the obvious history. We went on to cover many other places of interest before taking a short metro ride and having lunch at a lovely old villa/mansion house. Again, he was very informative and amusing. He also checked in with me a couple of times to make sure we were covering things that interested me. Tommi has absolutely perfect English, and also showed a lot of curiosity as to my background and country (Australia). I would book him again for sure. Tommi is a star

My tour with Tommi was amazing. I was traveling solo so had a one-to-one tour of the city. Tommi's historical knowledge and attention to detail was invaluable. Tommi really was so amazing and I really enjoyed my tour with him. I didn’t know I needed to buy my ticket but he took charge and made sure I was able to get one last minute. It was also very how much he enjoyed the history and it made listening to him more engaging. Passionate about the History

Our decision to take the "with locals" tour was very much a last minute one and we generally don't take organized tours. This afternoon was truly special and memorable. Tommi met us close to Centraale Station and very quickly had sized up what sort of tour he felt that we would enjoy. We learned about the modern history of the Centraale Station and the impact that it has had on the general growth and evolution of Amsterdam along with how it fits into the support of the bicycle as the city's predominant form of transport. All of this in his interactive and fun style of sharing his impressions and love of the city. There were a number of hidden treasures that he shared with us.. that we are sworn to secrecy as they are after all hidden. We left the tour with a great overview of Amsterdam as well as confidence in taking the wonderful transit system that you have. We can only give him the greatest recommendation as an insightful and fun guide as well as remarkable person. Incredible tour, a truly remarkable guide.

Tommie took care of all the details. We travelled by public transportation seamlessly through many parts of Amsterdam. He showed us so many interesting places that we would never have known to go.
