Yula led us through the streets and food markets of Yogyakarta in an evening of discovery and fun as we got to know each other while tasting traditional street food. She is warm and friendly and passionate about her culture. We tried food and drinks we would never have discovered by ourselves. A great immersive experience!An immersive street food experience

My boyfriend and I decided to contract this tour to learn a bit more about Indonesian gastronomy and Yogyakarta. We had never done any food tour, so we didn’t know what to expect, but the reality was way better than anything we could possibly imagine. Yulaikha is the best guide we could have had. She not only showed us a bit more of Indonesian gastronomy but also explained more about the city, the culture, and answered every single question we had regarding their way of life, beliefs, etc. I really, really recommend the experience, but I truly think that Yula was a game changer and made the experience even greater. Thanks, Yula, for your time and kindness! 10/10 experience

We did this tour in combination with the 10 tastings of Yogyakarta. 6 hours in total and absolutely amazing. You see everything in the city and taste things you wouldn’t normally get. Definitely recommend doing this. Amazing!

We had a great time in our tour with Yulaikha. She's not only knowledgeable and good at what she does, but she's also super friendly and easy to talk to. The conversation was flowing and we felt very relaxed and chill. Her English and her Dutch are great, and she took us to very interesting spots. Yulaikha gave us an incredible tour of the street food stalls on Malioboro. She was delightful to chat with - my partner and I both learned so much about Javanese food and culture. She even taught us how to spot handmade batik fabric (vs. printed batik fabric)! Now we can choose our own street food more confidently and eat like locals. In addition to showing us the major sites in downtown Yogyakarta, Yula opened up easily, sharing her own life experiences. She’s an adventurous young woman with much wisdom. We learned about her education, opportunities for socioeconomic mobility, Muslim dating apps, the words recited during daily prayer times, and so much more. The food tour with Yula was truly amazing! It was nice to be taken through the busy streets of Jogja and learn more about the city/history/culture and also the traditional food. It was lovely chatting to Yula and truly felt like meeting up with a long-term friend and going out for dinner. As tourists we hesitated to try to the street-food vendors because we didn't want to get sick so it was nice to try it this way and also not risk getting sick because Yula knows exactly where to go. Definitely a must-do activity if you're spending some time in Jogja! It was lovely from beginning to end!
