Absolutely fantastic experience on this tour. Estella felt more like meeting a friend than a stranger. She was not only knowledgeable but made the whole experience fun. What an absolute treat and delight to spend the afternoon with Helena. She knows how to get around the town. From contemporary street art that I would never have found to the inside story of some of the classic portions of Old Amsterdam. Helena had it all at her command. Great trips on places to dine or grab a beer. There's no way to describe what a wonderful opportunity it is... The best part is - she will customize the experience to be exactly what your group would like for it to be. I've been on a lot of walking tours in many cities around Europe as this one is Tops. Helena met me at my hotel lobby at the prescribed time to begin our tour. She took me to so many places I wouldn’t of seen ordinarily. She’s very knowledgeable, and the kind of person that you feel comfortable with. She becomes much of a friend! We had an enjoyable lunch at a quaint restaurant that she picked out that had excellent food. Helena definitely knows Amsterdam. We had a great day discovering Amsterdam with Helena! She had planned the ideal tour for our family making sure that everyone enjoyed it and felt involved . We started from the old part of the city and gradually discovered the modern side, visited parts of Amsterdam which we would never know on our own..we had a break for delicious apple pie and ended on a ferry ride across the city! We had a lovely tour of Amsterdam with our tour guide Elvina. We had never taken a "Withlocals" type of tour before. The experience of being shown around Amsterdam on a private tour with someone who did not deliver a rehearsed speech was our favorite outing in Amsterdam. Elvina made us feel like we were old friends of hers visiting her in Amsterdam. She took us to interesting places with lovely stories and asked us entertaining questions to include us in the tour experience. We spent a morning with Kawika on a World War II walking tour of Amsterdam, and it ended up being so much more than just a history lesson. While he covered the WWII material thoroughly and thoughtfully, he also wove in broader context about the city and the people. Kawika made an effort to get to know our family—what we’d seen so far, what we were curious about and shaped the experience to fit us perfectly. Rather than delivering a scripted tour, he made it conversational, responding to our questions and observations as we went. It felt organic, not rehearsed. He’s warm, personable, and so knowledgeable, never overwhelming. We truly enjoyed spending the morning with him. Time flew by, and both of our teenagers wished the tour had lasted longer… which says everything. We’d recommend him without hesitation.HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

We took a bike tour with Annet as a family (two parents and two teenagers) and it was honestly one of the top highlights of our whole trip. It took a minute to get used to the back-pedal brakes, but Annet's positive and enthusiastic energy helped us get comfortable quickly. She made something that might have felt intimidating—biking through a busy city—feel totally doable and fun. We saw parts of Amsterdam we never would have found on our own and felt like locals weaving through the streets and canals. Best of all, she also happens to be an incredible photographer. She captured some of our favorite photos from the entire trip—honestly, she’s both a tour guide and a professional photographer in one. This tour had all of us engaged (and if you’ve ever traveled with teenagers, you know that says a lot). Highly, highly recommend!

Annett was very informative and took us to several interesting places. However we did not understand why her feelings for President Trump were involved in the tour. What does that have to do with the history of Amsterdam? She was obviously wanting us to engage in a discussion about American politics but we were not interested in that. We have our beliefs but we are on vacation and wanting to relax, not argue. And the bottom line is that I and most Americans really don’t care what Annett or anyone else thinks about America, our government or our President.Amsterdam tour 25

We arrived in Amsterdam and met Mayra two hours later for our tour. Mayra was delightful and shared many stories and introduced us to some of her favorite foods from the City. Our three hour tour flew by as we walked through the streets of this beautiful and historic City. With full bellies and gratitude we said goodbye at the end of the tour. My niece and I booked a last-minute tour with Helena. She was very accommodating of our packed schedule. She taught us about the Coffee Shop culture and the Red Light District in a way that made us feel as if we were living it with her. My father and I had already spent several days in Amsterdam doing most of the touristy stuff (museums, canal tour, etc) and to have a local like Olga share her expertise and knowledge helped elevate our time here. We had already seen most of the things she showed us, but never knew what it was. Many of the things she showed us were truly hidden gems you might read about in a guide book but never find on your own! Truly a worthwhile experience. We very much enjoyed our personal art history lesson with Anna. We learned alot! I gained an appreciation for the work and genius of Rembrandt that I wouldn’t have gotten on a self guided tour. Sebastian was a great guide! While on tour, we felt as though we were taking a walk with an old friend (and a very knowledgable one). He told us about the history of the city as well as the lives of Amsterdam's citizens now. He adapted his way of explaining stuff to our mixed level of English (used simpler terms — so don't worry about not understanding something) and he showed us the best local places (the snack was amazing!). We also really appreciated little fun facts about various subjects connected to the city and his tips on best gifts from Amsterdam. We feel fully prepared for getting around on our own in the next days of our trip and for understanding stuff in museums and places all around town better. Sebastian is a great choice no matter the group — we went as mother and daughter (50 and 19) and both had a wonderful time. Amazing experience, we highly recommend! A wonderful experience :))

Jen Willem was just fabulous. I am the wrong side of 70, and I was travelling with a 19-year-old - Jen Willem listened to our specific requests and took us on a route that included places I am sure we would not have found on our own - this was our first time in Amsterdam. We recently took a Red Light District tour and was absolutely blown away by how captivating, informative, and surprisingly fun the entire experience was.
