This was the perfect way to start my visit to Valencia! Maria was such a lovely, knowledgeable guide. She clearly knows and loves the city well, and I really enjoyed hearing some of the history and the different kinds of architecture. Not to mention, all of the spots Maria chose for food were fabulous! Great variety of local places and stands at the central market. Cannot recommend this tour with Maria highly enough! Do it!! The initial connect with Cesar over Whatsapp was very pleasant, it was very easy to find him at the meeting point. We started at the Fresh Market where he showed us some nice tastings that we would have never stopped for. Then we continued to a tapas shop accross the square were we had Paella and fried shrimps. We continued to see a few more sights, and also the Silk Exchange where Cesar shared interesting historical facts. Overall Cesar is a very friendly guide, he could be a bit more sharing on own initiative but we consider this a minor point. Lovely tour through Valencia

Maria was very flexible after I booked the wrong tour initially. My wife and I toured around the Canyamelar - Cabanyal districts for 2 and a half hours. Although we know something of the area, having visited several times before, we were introduced to lots of new aspects of the area, from historical details to architectural examples, street art, museums and restaurants. We had a great tour with Cesar. The communication with the meeting point was all clear and Cesar was incredibly knowledgeable and proud of Valencia. He asked us what we liked and how much local info we wanted to hear, which was great. The food stops were places that were generally used by locals and his recommendations were great. He also explained why he’d chosen the dishes and their connection to Valencia. Cesar has a great sense of humour and it felt as though we were with a friend rather than a tour guide on another booking. Too many our guides simply just tell you facts, such as the date of this building and the name of that building etc.; facts that one forgets within a few hours after the tour. Mimoza instead tells you what Valencia is about, tells you interesting stories about Valencia and explains the background about what you are viewing; stories that linger in the memory. Maria is amazing, we were 4, different age and interests, but she was able to read into this and adjust every minute of our visit. She was very well prepared, on just on history, but also on local places, drinks, food and culture. Valentín was a very pleasant guide who was generous with his time, and made sure we tasted many Valencian specialities, visiting the central market for fresh produce and then a wine bar for tapas, and finishing in a cocktail bar to try Agua de Valencia - delicious! He also answered our questions about the architecture and demographics of the city, and gave a couple recommendations. We didn’t see as much of the city centre as perhaps we had expected, but it was an enjoyable morning despite that. Thanks Valentín! You won’t go hungry!

While our guide was very nice and I think his intentions are great, as new visitors to Valencia we didn't feel this tour added what it was supposed to for a food tour for the money. We have done food tours in other cities and the advantages are usually the guides of knowing people and places as to expedite ordering and multiple local dishes- we didn't get exposed to many expected favorites like potato bravas, local ham, paella or even anything in the Central Market which felt strange because he kept saying everything was unusually busy. We also didn't learn many traditions unless we asked. Just felt awkward.

Valentin was fine. He knew his way around the city, the interesting sites to see, and so forth. That probably isn’t surprising, since he is a city guide! He was perfectly pleasant and we enjoyed the tour, but I’m sorry to say that he and tour were on the flat, without any spark of interest from him. The poor man had probably done the tour dozens and dozens of times. Unfortunately, that showed. With other tour guides, and we’ve been lucky enough to have had many over the years, there’s usually a better engagement and more warmth. That said, his communications were good and it was easy to meet him.An OK tour

We had a tour of Valencia with Mimoza today. With the Fallas Festival going on I’m sure that it made things difficult for Mimoza. But I have to say that she put on a fantastic tour. My wife and I both loved seeing Valence with Mimoza. We learned so much about the history and culture of Valencia that we didn’t know and that we wouldn’t have learned except from someone who lives here. Maria was super knowledgeable about the history of Valencia with laminates to back up her information in pictorial fashion. The best part of the tour was diving into multiple buildings that we thought were private or at the very least charged for entrance! Her knowledge of architecture was encyclopaedic. Maria is a knowledgeable and friendly guide. We learned a lot about the artists and specific images we had been walking by all week. There is so much graffiti and paintings in Valencia. Choosing what to view and discuss is a challenge. We became more observant after the tour. We would like to know more about the relationships between those who paint images and those who paint script and initials only. Also, we also want to know more about those who choose own walls to paint and those who are paid by property owners to paint on their gates and walls. Great context for art we see
